FANUC AMERICA HIGHLIGHTS AUTOMATION CAREER PATHS AT ACTE CAREERTECH VISION

FANUC America will demonstrate the latest automation tools for career and technical education at ACTE CareerTech Vision, Nov. 29-Dec. 2 in Phoenix, booth #315.

FANUC AMERICA HIGHLIGHTS AUTOMATION CAREER PATHS AT ACTE CAREERTECH VISION

“The skills gap is quickly affecting every industry, and more companies are actively looking to fill job openings with people who are qualified to operate their robots and automation,” said Paul Aiello, Executive Director, Education for FANUC America. “At ACTE CareerTech VISION we want to introduce more educators to automation career paths that incorporate the same technologies being used by employers across the country. FANUC is helping bring industry and education closer together by partnering with over 1,500 schools, and we invite attendees to stop by and discuss how they can get started with their own automation program.”

FANUC CRX Cobot – Interactive Demonstrations
FANUC’s series of CRX collaborative robots are reliable, flexible, and can work for up to eight years without maintenance. Easy-to-use interactive programming allows operators to teach points using hand guidance or a Tablet TP with drag and drop icons.
  • A CRX-10iA cobot will pick and place stress balls located on a hopper. Attendees are welcome to try the CRX’s intuitive hand guidance and easy-to-use Tablet TP programming.
  • Ideal for any lab or classroom, FANUC’s fenceless CRX cart offers a lightweight and compact design that fits through a standard door and runs off 120V power.
  • Visitors can challenge a FANUC CRX 10-iA cobot in a putting contest. This demonstrates the cobot’s smooth and consistent motion.

FANUC Cobot and CNC Integration with Robot ON-SITE

FANUC’s Robot ON-SITE allows FANUC robots to be integrated with FANUC controls over a single Ethernet connection. In this demo, with the help of Robot ON-SITE, a FANUC CRX-5iA collaborative robot will automatically load and unload parts to a Levil EDU Mill equipped with FANUC’s 0i-F Plus Control.

The CRX-5iA collaborative robot has a 5kg payload and 994mm reach and is ideal for manufacturers with little to no robotic experience. Plus, Levil’s tabletop CNC milling machine is great for educating the CNC workforce. Learning about robotic integration with CNC machines translates to more opportunities in the workforce for people who have advanced technology skills – they will be able to take on more interesting and challenging tasks versus manual load/unload.

Desktop Milling Machines & Lathes
For schools that want to give their students the actual experience of cutting materials, FANUC powers several different desktop machines. These machines are perfect for students who want to gain the hands-on learning experience of not only operating CNCs, but also making parts.

The newest of these is the Bantam Tools Desktop Milling Machine - equipped with the FANUC 0i-F Plus CNC controlling FANUC servo motors and drives - designed for any educational or workplace training setting.

Automation Career Opportunities
Since 2010, FANUC has been committed to working with high schools, technical training centers, community colleges and universities where students learn to program and use FANUC industrial robots, CNCs, and various Industry 4.0 technologies. Graduates who earn industry certifications and technology degrees are highly sought after for a variety of roles, such as operators, technicians, engineers, managers, sales, service, field techs, installation specialists, technical support, and process experts.
