Hawke International to Host Special Event on Cold Flow and Cable Gland Installation

Hawke International, a division of the Hubbell Harsh & Hazardous Group, and the manufacturer of cable glands and connection solutions, is hosting a live, interactive, online Q&A on cold flow and cable gland installation.

Hawke International to Host Special Event on Cold Flow and Cable Gland Installation

The 45-minute session, to be held at 10.30am (BST) on Tuesday 14th July, will be led by a panel of experts from Hawke International, who will answer questions submitted by attendees.

Cold flow is the tendency of any solid material to move or deform over a period of time under the influence of mechanical stresses. In hazardous areas such as the oil and gas sectors, where cables are often subject to extreme temperatures, it can be a real issue.
The event is ideal for engineers and site managers operating in such hazardous environments. The special Q&A session is likely to cover how cable glands can be designed and implemented to prevent the effects of cold flow, providing protection against gas migration and explosive gases for instance, without causing any cable damage.

Andrew Reid, Technical Manager at Hawke International explains: “A company’s gland strategy can have a profound impact on its vulnerability to cold flow. The session will cover the very latest thinking in this sphere and provide a unique opportunity for those responsible for sites in some of the world’s most challenging and hazardous environments to get all their questions answered.”
