NVIDIA & IREN Expand DSX AI Infrastructure Deployment

NVIDIA and IREN have announced a strategic partnership to support deployment of up to 5 gigawatts of NVIDIA DSX-aligned AI infrastructure across IREN’s global data center development pipeline.

The initiative combines NVIDIA’s accelerated computing and AI factory architecture with IREN’s capabilities in power infrastructure, land development, GPU deployment, and large-scale data center operations. Future deployments are expected to focus on IREN’s 2 GW Sweetwater campus in Texas.

AI Factory Infrastructure Development
The partnership is designed to accelerate deployment of industrial-scale AI infrastructure capable of supporting enterprise AI workloads, AI-native companies, and startup ecosystems.

NVIDIA’s DSX AI factory architecture integrates accelerated compute systems with high-density data center infrastructure optimized for large-scale AI training and inference operations. The architecture is intended to support high-performance GPU clusters and scalable AI computing environments.

IREN will contribute power access, land resources, data center infrastructure, and operational expertise required for hyperscale AI deployments.

The Sweetwater campus in Texas is expected to function as a flagship deployment site for DSX infrastructure due to its large-scale power capacity and expansion potential.

Accelerated Compute Deployment
Under the agreement, the companies will collaborate on deployment of NVIDIA accelerated computing systems within DSX AI factories.

The infrastructure is intended to support compute-intensive workloads associated with generative AI, large language models, enterprise AI platforms, and cloud-based AI services.

Large-scale AI factories require integrated infrastructure planning across compute density, power distribution, thermal management, and networking systems. The partnership is structured to address these requirements through coordinated deployment of compute and facility infrastructure.

Investment Structure and Expansion Framework
As part of the agreement, IREN granted NVIDIA a five-year right to purchase up to 30 million ordinary shares at an exercise price of $70 per share. If fully exercised, the arrangement would provide NVIDIA the right to invest up to $2.1 billion in IREN, subject to regulatory and other conditions.

The structure aligns long-term infrastructure deployment with capital investment mechanisms intended to support phased expansion of AI data center capacity.

Scaling Global AI Infrastructure
The project reflects increasing investment in gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure driven by rising demand for accelerated computing capacity and industrial-scale AI deployment.

Large AI facilities require coordinated development of energy systems, cooling infrastructure, networking architecture, and GPU deployment environments. By combining compute architecture with large-scale power and data center infrastructure, the partnership aims to support faster deployment of high-density AI computing environments across multiple regions.
