Welcome, CeramSense®! The advanced ultrasonic sensors for flow metering are at the heart of CeramTec's presentation at this year's Sensor+Test 2025, the world's leading forum for sensor, measuring and testing technology. In addition to the latest product innovation, CeramTec will also be showcasing its piezoceramic components as well as structural ceramics and ultrasonic solutions. From 6 to 8 May 2025, in Hall 1 (Stand 1-530) at the Exhibition Centre in Nuremberg, Germany the advanced ceramics manufacturer will be demonstrating the important role that ceramic materials and ultrasonic technology play in reliable sensing and measurement technology. Visitors to the trade fair will be able to explore a wide range of applications including flow measurement of liquid and gaseous media, leak detection, metrology, materials testing or acceleration measurement.
CeramSense® flow sensors: high sensitivity meets excellent reception and transmission behaviour - One of CeramTec highlights at Sensor+Test fair will be the CeramSense® 2MHz water coupled ultrasonic flow sensors. They are suitable for use in smart ultrasonic water meters for domestic and industrial applications and enable reliable operation under high pressure and over a wide temperature range.
The new sensors combine many years of experience of CeramTec in the development and production of high-performance ceramics with its distinictive automation know-how for application-oriented sensor design. CeramTec’s has a significant advantage in that it has complete control over the manufacturing process – from powder and piezoceramic production to complete assembly technology in accordance with the regulatory requirements of different markets as well as comprehensive inhouse sensor performance testing capabilities.
"We are committed to developing and supplying our customers with proven, highly competitive flow sensors that are robust, durable and easy to integrate" says Charlie Dowling, Business Line Director Piezo & Sensors at CeramTec. "This is why we are continuously expanding our broad portfolio of services for the customised development and production of piezoceramics and ultrasonic solutions. And with the new CeramSense® 2 MHz water coupled flow sensor, we offer a completely assembled sensor component. Accelerated lifetime tests make us confident that CeramSense® flow sensors deliver precise, stable and long-lasting measurement results even under tough environmental conditions.”
High-performance ceramics: versatile solutions for reliable measurement results
CeramTec will show what it can develop and produce from a variety of more than 40 structural ceramic materials. These range from silicate ceramic solutions and substrates for electronic applications, through ceramic membranes and protective and insulating tubes for industrial measurement applications to customised high-performance ceramics manufactured using the 3D printing technology.
“Measurement technology in industrial environments is always a matter of high precision and reliability," says Fabio Lodidgiani, Business Line Director Structural Ceramics & 3D at CeramTec. “Our innovative solutions deliver exceptional performance, durability and accuracy for even the most demanding measurement and sensing applications. Whether the need is for enhanced durability, thermal stability or complex custom designs, our ceramic solutions can be tailored to meet unique requirements. Visitors to our stand are invited to explore our latest advances, engage with our knowledgeable team and discover how our pioneering ceramic technologies can drive success.”
