TESMEC GROUP HAS BEEN AWARDED A 12 MILLION EURO FRAME AGREEMENT WITH TERNA RETE ITALIA, CONSOLIDATING ITS STRATEGIC POSITIONING IN THE SECTOR OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE ENERGY AUTOMATION

Tesmec S.p.A. (MTA, STAR: TES), at the head of a group leader in the market of technologies for infrastructures (overhead, underground and railway networks) related to the transport of energy, data and materials (oil and derivatives, gas and water) and of technologies for quarries and surface mining, announces the signature, via its subsidiary Tesmec Automation S.r.l., of a framework agreement that will come into force after prototype successfully approval with a total value of Euro 12 million (Euro 8 million plus Euro 4 million in option) with Terna Rete Italia S.p.A., of Terna Group, that deals with the national electricity grid’s operation & maintenance.

  • Total value: Euro 12 million for the supply of Substation Automation systems for high voltage substations on SAS platform (ASAT-3).
  • Customer: Terna Rete Italia, which belongs to Terna Group and deals with the national electricity grid’s operation & maintenance.
  • Thanks to this contract, Tesmec Group consolidates its strategic positioning in the sector of advanced technologies for the power grids in Italy and marks a new step in its growth strategy in Energy Automation business.

Scope of supply are Substation Automation systems for high voltage substations based on SAS platform (ASAT-3). Substation Automation Systems concern devices that ensure protection, command, and control of substation. Each system provided by Tesmec will perform the automation functions needed for control the field devices (such as breakers, disconnectors, etc.) or a whole set of field devices connected to the system by "intelligent" devices (IED - Intelligent Electronic Device) named BCU (Bay Control Unit). Using information and signals acquired (via physical connection or communication protocol) the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) station will perform automation functions, field devices’ control, asset monitoring and interface towards the remote control centre.

Project will be executed in different steps:
•development, production, and validation of a Prototype system.
•development, production, factory acceptance test and onsite erection, installation, commissioning, and acceptance test for each “ASAT-3” system to provide.
Total duration of Contract: 36 months (plus 12 months extension)
