Fives AddUp Expands U.S. Manufacturing Capabilities for the FormUp® 750

Fives AddUp, the additive manufacturing subsidiary of the Fives Group, today announced plans to establish U.S.-based manufacturing capabilities for the FormUp 750, its next-generation large-format laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) machine. Initial U.S. industrialization activities are planned to begin in 2027 at Fives Machining Systems Inc’s existing facility in Hebron, Ohio.
The FormUp 750 is being designed and developed by Fives AddUp's engineering teams in France. Machines for the European market will be manufactured and assembled in France, while planned U.S. manufacturing will serve the North American market. This regional approach will bring production and support closer to customers while maintaining a common technology platform and consistent industrial standards.
Scaling Large-Format Additive Manufacturing
Built on the proven technology and industrial DNA of the FormUp 350, the FormUp 750 extends the platform to a build volume of 750 x 750 x 1,000 mm. It is designed for the industrial production of large, complex, and high-value components across aerospace, defense, space, energy, maritime, and other advanced industries.
The system can deploy up to 12 lasers and its large build volume enables manufacturers to produce larger components as single parts, consolidate assemblies, reduce joining operations, or manufacture multiple sizeable parts in one build.
More than a standalone printer, the FormUp 750 is conceived as the core of an automated additive manufacturing workshop. AddUp's full digital suite supports build preparation, production management, monitoring, traceability, and machine data, complemented by the company's automation and integration expertise.
Manufacturing and Support Closer to U.S. Customers
The planned U.S. manufacturing capability at Fives Machining Systems Inc. (FMSI) will complement Fives AddUp's existing North American presence, including its 20,000 ft² Solution Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The facility provides applications development, automation, integration, training, and service capabilities to support customers as they introduce additive manufacturing into industrial production.
