“Having had the privilege to serve this exceptional organization for nearly seven years, I am filled with appreciation for the accomplishments we have achieved together,” Summerville said. “It has been an honor to work alongside such a dedicated and talented team. As I look toward retirement, I do so with optimism for the automation division’s bright future.”

As part of the recently announced reorganization, Mitsubishi Electric has appointed Milton Coleman senior vice president and general manager of the newly created Industrial Automation Division of Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. Coleman will lead Mitsubishi Electric Automation until the integration is complete and then will lead the strategy, operations and growth of the new Industrial Automation Division across the Americas.

Coleman most recently served as senior vice president of sales and marketing for Mitsubishi Electric Automation where he led the sales and marketing organization in the Americas and worked closely with customers and channel partners to strengthen the company’s market position.

“On behalf of the board and senior leadership team, I want to thank Scott for his outstanding leadership and service to the organization,” said Mike Corbo, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Electric US. “The formation of the Industrial Automation Division reflects our continued commitment to this business and our focus on positioning Mitsubishi Electric for long term growth in the Americas. With more than 30 years of experience in the automation industry and a deep understanding of our commercial organization and customer needs, Milton is well prepared to lead this next phase and guide the Industrial Automation Division forward.”

“I am honored to step into this role at an important time for Mitsubishi Electric,” Coleman said. “Industrial automation continues to evolve rapidly, and I look forward to working with our teams to drive growth, strengthen customer relationships and deliver innovative solutions to the market.” He will assume his new role beginning April 1, 2026.
