SEEPEX Expands Pump Offering for the Growing U.S. Renewable Energy Natural Gas Sector.

Enon, OH – January 21, 2026 – The U.S. renewable natural gas (RNG) market is gaining momentum, driven by federal incentives, state-level credit systems, and growing interest in converting agricultural and municipal waste into low-carbon energy.

Rapid adoption of dairy digesters, large municipal conversion projects, and expanding pipeline injection of RNG mean operators require pumping systems capable of handling highly variable feedstocks while maintaining performance and low operating costs.
SEEPEX is introducing new sizes in its BN AND BTEX product lines, offering higher flow rates, optimized substrate handling, and maintenance-friendly technology tailored to U.S. RNG facilities.

Regulatory Drivers Accelerate RNG Growth
Key U.S. policy frameworks are fueling market expansion. The Inflation Reduction Act provides tax credits and financial incentives for renewable gas production across agricultural and municipal sectors. The Environmental Protection Agency implements the Renewable Fuel Standard program, which rewards low-carbon RNG when used as transportation fuel.

State programs such as California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard and Oregon’s Clean Fuels Program recognize RNG as a low-carbon fuel when used in vehicles under program rules and provide market signals and price premiums for high-value RNG. These incentives encourage agricultural waste-to-energy projects, as dairy and livestock operations work to meet methane-reduction goals, while heavy-duty fleets, municipal wastewater utilities, and large agricultural cooperatives increasingly rely on anaerobic digestion to achieve low-carbon fuel and sustainability targets.

SEEPEX Pumping Technology Ensures Efficient RNG Production
Efficient feedstock preparation is essential for maximizing methane yield. SEEPEX progressive cavity pumps deliver reliable, continuous flow into digesters, even when handling abrasive or fibrous materials from manure, agricultural residues, food waste, or municipal organics. SEEPEX macerators break down solids to improve microbial access, supporting higher gas production.

In the challenging conditions of U.S. manure-based digesters—high solids, sand, fiber, bedding material, and debris—SEEPEX Easy Maintenance solutions reduce downtime and extend component life. Smart Conveying Technology (SCT) features a patented two-piece stator and rotor design that allows maintenance without removing pipework, cutting downtime by up to 85 percent. The integrated re-tensioning mechanism adjusts the sealing line as wear progresses, often doubling component life and lowering operating costs. SCT retrofit kits support economical upgrades of aging facilities.
NEW: Expanded BN and BTEX Pump Sizes for High-Volume RNG Operations
SEEPEX now offers flow capacities of 20–90, 40–180, 80–360, and a new high-capacity model delivering 180–700 gallons per hour at 60 to 120 psi.

These pumps provide stable, high-capacity transfer even during seasonal peaks or intensive feed cycles, making them ideal for large dairy digesters, food-waste co-digestion projects, and municipal sludge operations with fluctuating feedstock volumes. The robust design and optimized premixing ensure flexibility for agricultural digesters, industrial co-digestion plants, and municipal waste-to-energy facilities, particularly when combining solid and liquid substrates such as dry matter and manure.

Optimized Premixing Enhances Digester Efficiency
The BTEX hopper and inlet design blends dry, fibrous, or high-solid materials with liquids before pumping, improving handling of manure, bedding, and food waste while minimizing sedimentation and agglomerate formation. Operators benefit from more consistent microbial activity, faster fermentation, shorter retention times, and reduced energy use for internal mixing, resulting in higher methane production and greater RNG yield. Stable homogenization ensures reliable performance even when solids concentration fluctuates throughout the day.

Outlook
With the new BTEX and BN pump sizes, SEEPEX positions itself as a key partner for the next generation of U.S. biogas and biomethane facilities. Higher flow capacities, improved substrate preparation, and optimized pump technology help operators achieve greater efficiency, stability, and economic performance—particularly during seasonal or campaign-based substrate inputs. As RNG becomes increasingly important for U.S. decarbonization and energy security goals, reliable plant technology is more valuable than ever.

Bernd-Guntram Schulz, Product and Market Manager Biogas at SEEPEX summarizes: "The combination of high flow rates, robust construction, efficient premixing, and maintenance-friendly technology makes the pumps an ideal solution for operators wishing to increase throughput, reduce costs, and run their processes more reliably."

SEEPEX continues to support the United States’ transition toward sustainable energy systems with dependable pump technology, engineered solutions, and extensive application expertise.
