Kontron Redefines Real-Time Manufacturing Transparency and Integration

Kontron, through its industrial software subsidiary Kontron AIS GmbH, has expanded its Manufacturing Execution System with FabEagle MES v4.3, focusing on deeper production transparency, standardized machine connectivity, and role-based performance visualization. The update strengthens the system’s position in data-driven production control by combining browser-based analytics, open machine interfaces, and configurable operational dashboards in a single MES platform.

Web-Based Reporting for Real-Time Production Transparency
The new reporting module enables direct evaluation of production data within a standard web browser. Equipment performance, material movement, and quality indicators can be analyzed using multiple graphical formats, including trend analyses, statistical distributions, correlation plots, heatmaps, and material flow visualizations. Production KPIs, process stability, and quality deviations become immediately visible, supporting faster root-cause analysis and continuous performance optimization without additional software tools.

Open REST API for Standardized Machine Integration
FabEagle MES v4.3 introduces a REST API that standardizes communication between machines and the MES layer. Equipment status, alarm data, process parameters, and material tracking information can now be exchanged in real time. This allows automatic calculation of operational KPIs such as OEE, MTBF, and MTTR, along with integrated alarm analytics, SPC-driven process evaluation, and full track-and-trace across raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods. Functions such as recipe validation, controlled downloads, and material interlocks further strengthen process reliability and quality consistency.

Configurable Dashboards for Role-Based Production Control
The web client now includes configurable, role-specific dashboards that provide operators, engineers, and production managers with continuous visibility into production performance. Machine states, alarm histories, throughput, WIP, and process quality indicators are displayed using predefined or user-configured widgets. Dashboards can be shared across teams, enabling coordinated, real-time production monitoring and agile decision-making across all operational levels.
