Stefano Boscolo Bozza, Chief Information Officer at Comau, participated as a speaker at the third edition of CTO Connect Milano, the annual technology event held in conjunction with Codemotion Milano. Mr. Boscolo Bozza took part in the panel discussion “AI Agents & Automation and their impact”, exploring the impact of AI agents and automation on industry and organizations. He emphasized how these technologies can accelerate innovation by presenting some strategic examples of AI applications developed by Comau.
In his speech, Boscolo Bozza illustrated how integrating AI into Comau’s portfolio of products and services can improve the performance and efficiency of its customers' production processes. This goal is pursued through the introduction of AI-based technological solutions. For example, the development of advanced vision systems allows Comau robots to perceive their environment and perform the correct action even when faced with uncodified objects. The proprietary Machine Inspection Recognition Archetypes (MI.RA) family of flexible, hardware-agnostic vision systems are a perfect example of this. Comau is also active in other areas such as predictive maintenance and the evolution of robot programming. The second area of development concerns the use of AI for internal productivity. In this case, Comau provides its employees with a set of AI and Generative AI-based tools aimed at improving internal processes and operational activities. Through internal awareness and training programs, COMAU promotes the safe and ethical use of AI. Through its AI Competence Center, Comau is also active in technology scouting in order to standardize tools so that they respond effectively to business needs.
With reference to the panel's guiding theme, Stefano Boscolo Bozza noted, "The topic of AI agents is widely discussed, not only in technological debates but also at events, in the media, and on social media. There are many definitions and just as many possibilities. At this stage, we are committed to defining which agent models are truly needed, in concrete terms, to improve our results and meet the needs of our organization. More generally, our approach to artificial intelligence is reflected both in the development of increasingly intelligent, autonomous, and personalized products and services, and in the optimization of internal productivity, enhancing the most strategic activities. We aim to create an ecosystem in which people and technology collaborate, making AI a concrete lever for innovation, efficiency, and competitiveness."
